We have arrived

Currently we are on the 8:15 train to Dresden (via a change at Leipzig). It is frankly a miracle that could probably only occur in Germany: plane arrived on time at 6:45 and after passport control and picking up luggage, we had a most enormous walk to the flughafen station for the 7:40 train to the main station in Frankfurt. Astonishing really. You couldn’t rely on this level of efficiency at home.

Anyway, by the time we arrive into Dresden, we will have been travelling non-stop for over 32 hours.

Good service and food on flight to Singapore. Initially, I didn’t think there was much on offer with the films but happened upon The Hours. What an excellent movie; a stellar cast including Meryl Streep, Julianne Moore and Nicole Kidman (playing Virginia Woolf) of whom I’m not usually a fan but this was a fine performance.

Second leg to Frankfurt - long (12 plus hours), film selection disappointingly limited, but got some sleep; service and food not at the same level as the previous leg but fine enough.

It is a grey, overcast day with a fine mist as we whiz along in the ICE train to our transfer at Leipzig.

  1. Yes I too think the Singapore airline selection of films has gone downhill these last few years. Love the soundtrack for the Hours, amazing music. Erika
