Am drilling down on river crossings. Have found one or two ferries that may be closed due to low river levels? Information is hard to find as German websites are written resolutely in German - and Google Translate sometimes leaves something to be desired ... Hmm, now that I have checked further into this (email back from Elbe Radweg service), it looks like I have been 'out of the loop': river levels across Europe are very low due to the hot dry summer. So, 'back to the drawing board': re-mapping required to find our way along the river minus some of the ferry crossings! Argh!
Made some big inroads into reading the Stasiland book last night - need to finish before I go as it is hardcopy and so can't pack it. It's providing some interesting insight into life in the GDR.
Must pack!!!!
